Chaos Warrior Standard Bearer (rescued / salvaged)

There are certain things one expects from becoming a parent. Chief among the ones on my list were all the added responsibilities that come with caring for a newborn human life, the lack of time for hobbies and many a night with little to no sleep. Thankfully, friends have been there to help us through the first few weeks, and I wanted to reward that kindness and generosity with some of my own. To that end, I came up with a paint scheme for a Chaos Warrior Standard Banner that would match the flag on my friend’s wall.

A long time ago, I came across a lot of Warhammer models in a second hand store. Since then, I have thought about stripping the horrible and half-finished paintjob and seeing how much I could improve on it. Here is my attempt at stripping and repainting second hand miniatures, which people usually refer to as “rescuing” them.

Chaos Warrior

I saw a small box of Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Warriors at reduced price over at the local store. These ones are the easy-to-assemble variant, and looking at the box gave me the idea to do a set of three heavy-armored knights in different metals, just like I did with my skeletons.
